Echoes of Liberation explores the ways freedom reverberates across generations. Rooted in ancestral memory, resistance, spirituality, healing, transformation, and self-discovery, this collection traces a journey from collective liberation to personal awakening. Created by artist and social practitioner Niki Lopez, the works invite viewers to honor what has been endured, celebrate what has been reclaimed, and imagine what becomes possible when we define ourselves on our own terms. In the spirit of Juneteenth, Echoes of Liberation asks us to remember, reflect, and continue the work of becoming free.

Featured Artist | City of North Miami Beach Juneteenth Breakfast Experience
Echoes of Liberation was presented as a featured art experience as part of the City of North Miami Beach’s 2026 Juneteenth Breakfast Experience, held on June 19, 2026, at the Marjorie & William McDonald Center. Invited by the City of North Miami Beach, artist and social practitioner Niki Lopez shared a selection of mixed-media works exploring themes of liberation, memory, resilience, ancestry, and healing, accompanied by an interactive community reflection component.
Visitors were invited to contribute to a living portrait of liberation by responding to prompts and sharing personal reflections throughout the exhibition experience.
